6. SPC Alumni Choir
Kicking Start the 2015/16 Season

2014-2015 has marked an incredible and fruitful year for our Alumni Choir. Not only we have improved musically from the valuable experience of making our first ever CD recording, we have also made our Alma Mater and ourselves proud in participation in the First SKH schools alumni choral festival by earning lots of accolades among peers and music lovers. To capped off the year, we have sung in SPC summer concert – Metamorphosis in July joined by more than 200 musicians from the SPC family.

To kick start another exciting season, we sang at the SPC morning assembly on October 30th which will be followed by our inaugural Christmas Carol service on December 19th at St. Paul’s Church. Comes 2016, will mark another first for our choir. We are invited to sing away from Hong Kong. We will be the guest choir for the University of Macau, Choi Kai Yau College’s concert in Macau on February 20th, 2016.

We are honoured and excited to have Joe Chan Cho Kin (83), no stranger to our alumni music community, to be our conductor for these aforementioned events. Rehearsals are already under way!! Our next rehearsal will be on 28 Oct(Wed) and from November onwards, we will be rehearsing every Friday at SPC’s music room starting at 7:45pm. Should our responses thus far are any indication of our coming success, we are off to a great start and it is promised to be another fun and exceptional season.

Nothing better than singing our heart out together with our brothers, that’s the spirit! That's the St. Paul's Spirit! Join us now!

For all details, please contact Wong Siu Man (class of 1993) @97219364 or siuman_wong@yahoo.com.hk

8. SPCAA Watermelon Cup (15 & 22 Nov)

The SPCAA Watermelon Cup is back!
The 2015 tournament will be played on Sundays 15 November (for the Prime Division) and 22 November (for the Youth Division).
To add more excitement and have more to play for in the games, this year we revamped the tournament structure. For both Divisions, the competition will now consist of a Cup Competition and a Bowl Competition. Teams will now first play a playoff game to decide their access to either the Cup competition or the Bowl competition, and then contest in the knockout games for the Cupor the Bowl. (You may compare it with the mode in the HK Sevens Rugby Tournament.) The Winners in the Cup competition and the Bowl competition, in both Divisions, will receive new trophies.
Thanks to the huge enthusiasm from our alumni, the OC is glad to announce that within one week the 24 team slots available are all filled up, and the teams are divided into the Prime and the Youth Divisions as follows:
Prime Division (15 Nov):
1971 / 1980 / 1981 / 1983 / 1984 / 1985 / 1986 / 1987 / 1990 / 1991 / 1992 / 1993
Youth Division (22 Nov):
1994 / 1995 / 1996 / 1997 / 1998 / 1999 / 2001 / 2002 / 2006 / 2007 / 2008 / 2009
The OC will conduct the playoff draw and announce the complete match schedule on SPCAA website and SPCAA Facebook in due course. Please mark your diary, come back and enjoy the games!
